The police department’s “independent” inquiry and criminal investigation that followed my confession of perjury have long been concluded — problem now being that police have refused all my requests for the reports and their findings.

Until now I’ve been content to quietly work quietly with the Ombudsman’s office, appealing to have those findings released — quietly, that is, until the Minister of Police, Anne Tolley, appeared on national television Saturday night and told New Zealanders we could have — get this — “absolute” confidence in the transparency of our police department investigating themselves.
